National Parks, Forts, Palaces & the Taj Mahal Tour

Hawa Mahal, JaipurDay 1 : Delhi to Manesar

Meeting and assistance upon arrival in Delhi and transfer to Manesar, Gurgaon and check in at your hotel. (Approx  45 min)
Meals on own.
Overnight at the Heritage Village Club.

Day 2 : Manesar to Jaipur
After breakfast depart by taxi for Jaipur. (Approx 4 ½ hrs)
Upon arrival, check in at hotel and have lunch.

Jaipur was built in the 18th century. It is a planned city built with ancient Hindu rules as the colonial capital of a richly colourful state. It was made attractive with the pink wash - a traditional colour of welcome in 1853 in honour of the visit of Prince Albert.
Evening meal at hotel.

Overnight stay in the Mandawa Haveli.


Day 3 : Jaipur
After breakfast, excursion to the magnificent Amber Fort by jeep.

En-route, make a photo stop at the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). This is a five storied building with a 25cm thick facade from the 18th Century having  953 windows and niches  so that the ladies of the royal  family  could see the processions and events in the city without being visible to the people.  

On arrival at the Amber Fort, take a leisurely tour around this impressive fortress on elephant back.
Lunch at the hotel.
Evening meal at the hotel.

Overnight stay in the Mandawa Haveli.

Day 4 : Jaipur to Jabalpur
After breakfast, take a morning walking tour of the local bazaars in Jaipur City. The most interesting spots on this walking tour are the flower market, the vegetable market and the wholesale spice market, rich in smells and colours.

After spending time in the local markets, take a bicycle rickshaw and enjoy a ride through these vibrant  bazaars.
After lunch, transfer to Jaipur Railway Station to board the 2nd A/C overnight sleeper train for Jabalpur. (Depart Jaipur 1725 hrs, reaches Jabalpur 0905 hrs)
Packed evening meal will be provided for the train.

Overnight on board train. ( 15 hrs 40 mins)

Day 5 : Jabalpur to Kanha
Arrival in Jabalpur.
Transfer to hotel for a breakfast and freshen up. Transfer by taxi to Kanha National Park. (Approx 5 hrs).

Check in at your jungle resort. Kanha's Sal and Bamboo Forests, rolling grasslands and meandering streams stretch over 940 sq km in dramatic natural splendour, form the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve created in 1974 under Project Tiger. The park is the only habitat of the rare hard ground Barasingha (Cervus Duvaceli Branderi).
Lunch at resort. Afternoon safari jeep safari.

Evening meal and overnight at Tuli Tiger Resort.

Black Buck, BharatpurDay 6 : Kanha
Morning safari drive and a packed breakfast will be served in the park itself.
After lunch, afternoon safari drive.
Evening meal back at the resort.
Overnight at Tuli Tiger Resort.

Day 7 : Kanha to Bandhavgarh
After morning jeep safari drive and breakfast, take an taxi to Bandhavgarh. (Approx 5 hrs).

Upon arrival, check in at your jungle resort. This is a small, but very famous national park; compact, yet full of game. The density of the Tiger population at Bandhavgarh is the highest known in India. This is also White Tiger country. These have been found in the old state of Rewa for many years.
Packed lunch and evening meal at the resort.

Day 8 : Bandhavgarh
Early morning safari drive by jeep. Return to the resort for breakfast.
After lunch at the resort, afternoon jeep safari drive. 
Evening meal at the resort.

Day 9 : Bandhavgarh to Khajuraho
Morning jeep safari. After breakfast at the resort, transfer to Khajuraho by taxi. (Approx 5 ½  hrs)
Packed lunch provided for the journey. Upon arrival in Khajuraho, check in at your hotel.
Evening meal at hotel. 
Overnight at the Usha Bundela Hotel.

Day 10 : Khajuraho to Orchha
Following breakfast at the hotel, visit the Eastern and Western Group of Temples. In the Western Group, the most important temple is the Kandariya Mahadeo. It is one of the largest and most typical of the Khajuraho Temples. Visit the Chaunsat Yogini Jain Temple - dedicated to the 64 "Yoginis " or attendants of Goddess Kali. This temple stands apart from the rest. Also see the Chitragupta or Bharatji Temple with a lovely sculpture of Lord Vishnu in his 11-headed form.

Later, visit the Eastern Group of temples including the Ghantai Temple, Vamana Temple dedicated to the "Vamana" or dwarf incarnation of Lord Vishnu and the Javari Temple. There are also three Jain Temples with beautiful carvings and sculptures. Although these are Jain Temples, they also contain numerous Vaishnav deities .
After lunch, depart by A/C taxi to Orchha. (Approx 4 hrs)
Upon arrival in Orchha, check in at hotel.

Overnight at the Amar Mahal


Dolhorina, Kanha National ParkDay 11 : Orchha to Jhansi to Agra
After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Orchha. Orchha is a medieval city, teeming  with  palaces, temples  and cenotaphs,  dating  back  to  the  Bundela Dynasty. 

Lunch at the hotel before transferring to Jhansi Railway Station, to board the Shatabdi Express Train to Agra. (Approx  30 min drive & 2 hrs train ride)

Agra stands on the right bank of the Yamuna River and was once the seat of the Mughal Rulers. A city enshrined in romance and famous for its beautiful medieval monuments. The passion of the Mughals for building endowed it with some of the loveliest buildings in the world.
Evening meal at the hotel.

Overnight stay in Howard Park Plaza.


Day 12 : Agra
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for the city of Agra including visiting the world famous Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. The Taj Mahal has been described as a poem in white marble. Built by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Rabindranath Tagore calls it, "a teardrop on the cheek of time". Taj Mahal means "Crown Palace" and is in fact the most well- preserved and architecturally beautiful tomb in the world.

After lunch, visit the Agra Fort, built alongside the Yamuna River, stretching almost 2.5 km. This fort contains splendid palaces both in red sandstone and white marble built by two generations of prolific master builders. Of the nearly 500 Akbari buildings built in the Bengal and Gujarati traditions, only a few have survived, arrayed in a band on the riverfront.

Enjoy a Tonga ride (Horse pulled cart) in Agra during the sightseeing tour.

Day 13 : Agra to Delhi
After breakfast, depart by taxi for Delhi. (Approx 4 ½ hrs)
After lunch in Delhi, proceed for a sightseeing tour of New Delhi.
In the evening, after the sightseeing tour, visit a local Indian speciality restaurant for evening meal.

Overnight at the Regent Continental

Day 14 : Delhi International Airport

Breakfast and transfer to Delhi International Airport for your departure.
