“In February/ March 2011 I went on the Cricket, Tigers and Bird Tour organised by Sandra Stewart. Being my first trip to India it provided a fascinating introduction to India, its people, and its wildlife. We stayed in stunning locations in two fairly remote and beautiful parts of India – the Tadoba National Park and the Sunderbans National Park, and in two cities, Nagpur and Bangalore where we watched world cup cricket matches. Within and en route to the National Parks we saw a wide range of wildlife, the highlight for me being fortunate enough to see a tiger on two separate occasions in Tadoba. Sandra not only planned the tour with efficiency and flair but was personally extremely helpful to me in resolving a muddle of my own making.”

Planning a trip in a foreign country can be daunting. After getting extremely frustrated trying to plan it myself, a friend suggested we use Indian Wildlife Tours. I communicated directly with them through e-mails and they planned a trip for us to Kerala. I was so worried about things running smoothly and knowing where we were to go each step of the way. We were assured that all would go well and I need not worry. They were right! We were furnished with a very good driver who took good care of us. He drove us all over, into the Ghat mountains and then down into the backwaters of Alleppey. There were several people who met us from IWT to explain our itinerary and make sure we were taken care of. They periodically checked in with our driver to make sure all was going as planned.

In four days we saw Cochin, from Chinese fishing nets to Kathakali dancing. We went to Thekkady and enjoyed an amazing one hour elephant experience we will never forget. From riding the elephant, bathing her, feeding her and getting an elephant shower (our driver captured some fantastic pictures for us on our camera as well.) We also went to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and enjoyed a relaxing ride on the lake where we saw wild elephants with their babies, birds, boar, …….The tea plantations were beautiful and we learned a lot about the spices grown in this area and were able to purchase many spices to take home. We enjoyed a beautiful drive to the backwaters where we spent the day and night on a houseboat all to ourselves with our own friendly cook and staff. The boat was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The ride was relaxing and enchanting. Watching the day to day life along the banks of the water was captivating. The food was wonderful and cooked to our spice tolerance. The bedrooms were air conditioned and comfortable.

The two other hotels we stayed at were clean and spacious. This trip was amazing and one we will never forget. We would definitely use Indian Wildlife Tours to help us plan another trip. Thank you for planning such an amazing trip for us! It was great to see a different side of India.

Just wanted to say a big thank you from everyone for the fantastic weekend we all had.  Everything was great – transport, lodge, safari drives, everything.  We appreciated all your help with the arranging and smooth running of the weekend.

I’m sure there will be some follow-on bookings!  I, for one, am interested in working with you for another tiger safari.

Thanks again,
Jane Dixon

Having visited the Sub Continent on many occasions in recent years, this time we chose to use the services of an Indian travel specialist. Sandra Stewart did a brilliant job in organising our tailor-made trip together with our naturalist Pradeep Singh, leading our tour. Our tour this year centred on Corbett National Park, Kanha Tiger Reserve and Bharatpur Bird Sanctury. Pradeep, who accompanied us for the whole trip, speaks near perfect English. As he was born and raised on the very edge of the Keoladeo Reserve in Bharatpur and is a respected authority on wildlife not just for his home territory but also for the major Indian National Parks, some of which he has worked as a guide and gained a wealth of experience about Indian fauna and flora. His expertise extends to the cultural side of this incredible country.

The hotel and lodge accommodations we used were selected mainly by Sandra and we were impressed by her choices. Our transportation, primarily by air conditioned saloon cars, was of an excellent standard. All three drivers used on our journeys were extremely capable and anxious to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

Our sincere thanks to Indian Wildlife Tours for a most enjoyable and memorable holiday.

We had a marvellous time – we could not have been better looked after and all the meeting of trains etc. went smoothly, even when there were substantial delays. Our personal Guide, Harish Sharma, was outstanding – very knowledgeable about birdlife and nature, very courteous and friendly, with all details quietly looked after and nothing too much trouble. We would certainly recommend travelling with this firm.

Pradeep you were the best guide we have ever had, thank you so much for showing us your India, your tigers, birdlife and all that goes with it. You are so passionate and enthusiastic about everything, willing to share all your knowledge so that it made our trip very special. Through your exceptional knowledge of the tigers we had some close encounters. Very very special unforgettable moments. Thank you very much for sharing all that with us.

Thank you IWT - we had an absolutley amazing honeymoon with your company!

All of the guides who looked after us in India were incredibly friendly, welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable - nothing was too much trouble for them and we always felt really comfortable in their company.  Wherever we went, they had a wealth of experience and knowledge which they happily shared with us - we learned so much about the areas we visited and the culture of India.  Our safari guides were so amazing and found many fabulous animals for us to see (including 20 tigers, a bear and a leopard!!!!).

The accomodation that we stayed in was always very clean, comfortable and of a very high standard.  We were looked after during every part of our visit, with all our meals, transport and activities arranged and very well organsied.  Every day was different and exciting and feel that we have also met & made some wonderful new friends in India.

We had the time of our lives!  It really was the best holiday we have ever been on! We would love to go back to India again and do it all over again.  Our tour took us to Delhi, Jaipur, Kahna and Bandhavgarh National Parks and Agra. We saw so many amazing sights - every day was interesting and mind blowing. We have so many very happy memories, amazing photograhs to choose from and have told all our friends and family all about how wonderful our visit was and how highly we recommend India as a fantistic place to visit.  Even the overnight train was great!  A huge thank you to everyone at IWT for the holiday of a lifetime - we will be back!

We first used the services of Pradeep Singh in 2006 before the formulation of Indian Wildlife Tours. He was then a senior guide/naturalist at a leading Safari Lodge in Kanha National Park. Being born and bred in Bharatpur (home of the world renowned bird sanctuary), his knowledge of Indian ornithology was exceptional. Having now enhanced his guiding experience with four years on the tiger reserves, he has become equally skilled in tracking the big cats as well as the other exciting mammals to be found in Kanha and other Indian National Parks.

Without doubt Pradeep is the best of the many guides who have served us on the subcontinent not just because of the tremendous enthusiasm and understanding he has for India’s fauna, but also for his ability to impart information in an interesting and fun manner. We now eagerly look forward to our next visit and to the friendly banter that is the trademark of Pradeep’s style.
