It was a very successful trip to Gujarat where we got to see the amazing Asiatic Lions with two big males and 2 cubs and 2 females and then to Little Rann of Kutch (LRK) where we had fantastic views of Wild ass, Black buck, Indian fox, Greater and Lesser flamingo, Rosy and Dalmatian Pelican, Pied avocet, Reef egret, Black tailed godwit and other fantastic birds. Then we move to Himalayan highland to Corbet where we did see the rare Pallasa’s fish eagle, Lesser fish eagle, Wild elephants, Rusty cheeked scimitar babbler, Himalayan vulture, Griffon vulture, Cinereous vulture and loads of Barking deer and then moved to Pangot where we got to see the rare koklass pheasant, Altai and Alpine accentor, Bearded vulture (Lammergeier). It was a very fantastic trip with loads of Himalayan birds. Got some good pics too and they’ll be on soon but here are some of them.

Kanha National Park..
Keoladeo National Park Rocks….
On my recent visits to the bird sanctuary I’ve had such a wonderful time and some moments in the park were just amazing and it feels like that I can spend the whole day in the park just sitting in one place where pelicans are fishing, darters are having territorial fights and cormorants are fighting for fishes and egrets and Pond Herons are trying their luck too. Got some pics of those moments and ‘ll post them soon.
Keoladeo National Park..
One of our guests (Bob Van Keulen) from The Birder’s Inn, is coming to visit us and the bird sanctuary again. He has been visiting for many years and has taken these great pictures of this not very easily seen bird and showed them to me. I like the pictures and I thought I’d share them here too! (Black Bittern)
Pelicans fighting in Keoladeo National Park..
I was lucky to see the fighting of these two pelicans in Keoladeo Park Bharatpur over a fish and then one of the other pelican came and swallowed the whole Little Grebe with the fish…. You can see the face and the size of the pelican mouth…

Pelican’s in Keoladeo National Park..
This year with the help of the water coming from the Chambal River, as well as having a good monsoon, the water bodies in the park are full. We’ve got three beautiful species of pelican’s at the moment (two of which are photographed below) and are having a great time in the park. Some of the pictures are here…

It’s ‘Birds of Prey Time’ in Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary…
Keoladeo National Park
On my visit to Keoladeo National Park today we had very good bird sightings. We saw a beautiful birding colony of Painted Storks, and 100s of Great White Pelicans, various heron’s fishing and darters diving, birds of prey soaring over the birds to take a chance for food and the beautiful Black-necked Stork. This time the bird sanctuary is very beautiful with many, many lovely birds and one can have a lovely time and can spend many days observing. Here are some pics to see what it looks like this time of the year.
